Bubble Tea Comes To South Shore Mall In Bay Shore

Black Pearl Bubble Tea has opened its second location in a Long Island mall, joining a Green Acres Mall store, with plans to open more.

BAY SHORE, NY—Shoppers at the South Shore Mall in Bay Shore can now stop for authentic bubble tea, the Taiwanese tea with tapioca balls that's increased in popularity in recent years.

Black Pearl Bubble Tea opened its first location in Valley Stream at the Green Acres Mall in August. The Bay Shore store opened its doors in October.

"Starting with multiple bubble tea shops opening at shopping malls in Long Island area, we are dedicated to build the best bubble tea brand in the US and our goal is to bring the most healthy and delicious tea based drinks to the communities," Black Pearl Bubble Tea explains on Facebook.

The bubble tea shop serves fruit tea varieties like mango and green tea, lychee, lemon and lime, as well milk tea concoctions like "cheesecake milk tea," made of cheesecake pudding and milk tea.

Bubble tea is also known as boba tea and has been appearing in more Long Island towns as its popularity spreads eastward from Queens and New York City.

The owners of Black Pearl plan to continue to expand, with a Connecticut store coming to Norwalk soon.
