'Critical Need' Prompts Thursday's Blood Drive In Bay Shore

BAY SHORE, NY —The United States is facing a "blood shortage" due to a significant drop in blood donations according to the New York Blood Center.

On Thursday, the Suffolk County community is rallying to boost blood donations at Pro Game Athletics at 41 Saxon Avenue in Bay Shore, from 3 to 7:30 p.m., in light of a "critical need" for donations.

According to the organization, appointments are preferred but walk-ins are welcome. Those planning on donating blood must remember to eat, drink and bring ID.
