Drug, Weapon Charges For Bay Shore Man Accused Of Fleeing Traffic Stop
Suffolk police had been searching for a driver they said hit a police car in Brentwood in early January.
BAY SHORE, NY — A Bay Shore accused of fleeing from a traffic stop in Brentwood Jan. 2 now faces weapons and drug charges, according to Suffolk police.
Police said Tyrell Anderson, 23, of 52 Farrington Ave. was driving an Audi near the corner of Crooked Hill Road and Leahy Avenue in Brentwood at 11 a.m. Jan. 2 when an officer observed the vehicle operating with incorrect license plates. The officer activated lights and sirens for a traffic stop.
Anderson fled in the Audi and struck the rear of a police vehicle in the process, police said.

Following an investigation, police arrested Anderson at his home Jan. 24. They said they also seized multiple weapons, drugs and packaging materials.
Anderson faces charges of Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3rd Degree, two counts of Criminal Possession of a Firearm, two counts Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd Degree, two counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th Degree, two counts of Criminal Use of Drug Paraphernalia 2nd Degree, and Criminal Mischief 2nd Degree.
