Election 2022: Phil Ramos Wins Another Term For Assembly District 6

The results are in for the race between Phil Ramos (D) and Kevin Surdi ​(R).

SUFFOLK COUNTY, NY — New York State Assemblyman Phil Ramos (D) will represent the 6th Assembly District for another term, Newsday said.

Phil Ramos, who has served the district since 2003, was being challenged by ER Nurse, and Republican candidate Kevin Surdi in the general election.

He won with 12,034 votes, or 56.86 percent, while Kevin Surdi, obtained 8,093 votes, or 38.24 percent, with 65 out of 65 districts reported.

Official results were delayed on Tuesday, after board of elections workers had difficulty loading memory cards needed to tally the vote.

The 6th State Assembly District covers Bay Shore, Baywood, Brentwood, Central Islip, Hauppauge, Islip, Islandia and North Bay Shore.
