"We try to be a little different from like the big stores," said owner Howard Frank. "The big stores just do the trees and decorations. We do a little bit of, we do a little bit of everything."

Frank, who owns the Everything Christmas with his wife, Pam, said they came up with the business model in 2007 after seeing Spirit Halloween stores.

"It's just hard on Long Island to pay rents all year round," he said. We always felt like we were busy enough during Christmas."

Howard and Pam, who are from East Meadow, opened their first stores on Long Island. Since then, they've expanded the business to Queens and the West Coast.

Despite the pandemic, business has been quite successful, Frank told Patch.

"In the last few years with COVID, those were some of our best years, because people just had enough of staying at home and doing nothing," he said. "It just seems like every year, no matter what, Christmas is always Christmas. It never fails."
