Funeral Services Set For Beloved Bay Shore Fireman

BAY SHORE, NYT —The Bay Shore community is mourning the death of a dedicated firefighter and for captain, Bruce Lewandowski.

The Bay Shore Fire Department and Engine Company 1 announced his passing Friday morning.

Lewandowski, 74, was a 51-year member of the fire department and a former captain of Engine Company 1, the department said.

Visitation services will take place on Tuesday, September 10, from 2 to 4:30 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Overton Funeral Home in Islip. A Firematic service will take place in the evening at 8 p.m.

Cremation will be private.
