The Hero Joint Will Open Second Location In Bay Shore
The owners of a popular Patchogue sandwich shop are opening a new location in the former AJ's Grilled Cheese space.
BAY SHORE, NY—A second location of sandwich shop The Hero Joint is coming to downtown Bay Shore. The first location at 74 E. Main St. in Patchogue serves specialty sandwiches and heroes.
The Bay Shore location is currently undergoing work in the former AJ's Grilled Cheese, 182 W. Main St. AJ's announced it would close permanently in August, citing pandemic losses and other factors.

"[Owner] John Murray set out to create a unique concept: a modern, high-quality sandwich shop...Beyond taking great pride in our staple sandwiches, we also offer some more innovative choices, as well as seasonal sandwiches. The Hero Joint menu reflects sandwiches we have enjoyed across the country, brought home to New York with some added flair."
The menu has classics like the "meatball parm hero" as well as a Thanksgiving-inspired turkey, stuffing and cranberry sauce sandwich.
