House Fire Hospitalizes 2 On Long Island: Police

Suffolk County Police Arson Squad detectives are investigating a Long Island house fire that sent 2 to the hospital, police say.

BAY SHORE, NY — Suffolk County Police Arson Section detectives are investigating a fire at a Bay Shore home that sent two people to the hospital with smoke inhalation, Suffolk County police told Patch.

Police said the Bay Shore Fire Department responded to a call about a house fire on Santam Court around 8:15 a.m. on Dec. 28.

Upon arrival, firefighters found the house ablaze and removed two people who were transported to South Shore University Hospital in Bay Shore for smoke inhalation, police said.

Mutual aid was provided by the Islip, East Islip, and West Islip fire departments, while Bay Shore Bright Waters Ambulance and Brentwood Ambulance provided EMS support
