Islip Honors Bay Shore Boys Basketball Team's Historic Win

Islip Town honored the Bay Shore Marauders after clinching their first Long Island Triple-A Championship in over 40 years.

BAY SHORE, NY — Congrats to the Bay Shore Marauders who recently clinched their first Long Island Triple-A Championship in over 40 years since their last in 1981.

The team had an undefeated season with Coach Ken Parham a record of 24 and 0 before taking a 66-45 victory over Baldwin, the Nassau County champions.

The Town of Islip honored the team during its annual Student Community Service Awards Celebration where players and coaches joined the Town Board members to celebrate.

“Throughout the Town of Islip, we are so fortunate to have some of the finest schools, filled with tremendously talented students and athletes,” said Islip Town Supervisor Angie Carpenter.

Carpenter congratulated the players for what she called a "historic season and victory."
