BAY SHORE, NY — Downtown Bay Shore will get another new eatery soon, this time a breakfast and lunch restaurant called Buttermilk's Kitchen. Last week, the Town of Islip approved an application from the owners, who opened a Buttermilk's Kitchen in 2018 in Patchogue Village.

The restaurant's motto is "where glam meets farmhouse" and the menu has pancakes, eggs, omelettes, French toast and more for breakfast. Lunch offerings include sandwiches, wraps, grilled cheese and salads.

The Bay Shore Buttermilk's Kitchen will have 78 seats in the currently-vacant building, next to the Bay Shore United Methodist Church, at 93 E. Main St.

The attorney for the applicants, Steven Bertolino, told the town board members on Wednesday that they plan to work with the church to open up some of the landscaping that is obscuring part of the storefront of the building, built in 1920.

The new restaurant will be 3,200 square feet and the remainder of the building will continue to be zoned as retail and office space.
