1 Arrested After Brutally Assaulting LI Man: Police

Police arrested a man accused of attacking and hospitalizing another on Long Island Tuesday night, police say.

BAY SHORE, NY — A man was arrested after he attacked and seriously injured another man in Bay Shore on Tuesday night, police said.

The victim was walking on Main Street, near Third Avenue, when an unknown assailant walked up, struck him in the head with a metal object, and fled the scene around 6:50 p.m., police said.

The victim, who has not yet been identified by police, was transported to a local hospital in serious condition, police said.

After an investigation, Ricardo Siguenza, 32, was arrested and charged with second-degree assault, police said. He is slated to be arraigned at First District Court on Wednesday.
