Man Dies After Brutal Assault On LI: Police
The man, who was hospitalized after suffering a brutal assault on Long Island, has died, according to Suffolk County police.
BAY SHORE, NY — The man who was brutally attacked in Bay Shore in February has died, according to Suffolk County police.
Carlos Cabrera, 44, of Brentwood, who was seriously injured after being assaulted by a man on Main Street, died after being hospitalized on Feb. 25, police said.
Police said the investigation is now being handled by Homicide Squad Detectives.

Cabrera was walking on Main Street, near Third Avenue, when an unknown assailant walked up, struck him in the head with a metal object and fled the scene around 6:50 p.m., police said.
After an investigation, Ricardo Siguenza, 32, was arrested and charged with second-degree assault, police said.
