Man Dead After Altercation On Long Island: Police

A man killed another man on Long Island Thursday night, Suffolk County police say.

BAY SHORE, NY — A man killed another man on Long Island on Thursday night, according to Suffolk County police.

Police said during an altercation in a parking lot around 8:45 p.m., James Rogers, 66, of Babylon, struck Mark Iacono, 65, of Patchogue, multiple times.

Iacono was transported to South Shore University Hospital in Bay Shore, where he was pronounced dead, police said.

Rogers remained on the scene, where he was arrested and later charged with first-degree manslaughter, police said.

He was held overnight at the Third Precinct and will be arraigned today at First District Court in Central Islip on Friday, police said.
