Man Killed, Ejected From Car, In Suffolk Crash: Police

The 20-year-old was driving in North Bay Shore when the crash occurred, police say.

NORTH BAY SHORE, NY — A man is dead after he was ejected from his car in a North Bay Shore crash on Tuesday, Suffolk County Police said.

Isaiah Santos Rubio, 20, of Bay Shore, was driving a 1995 Honda Civic eastbound on Pine Aire Drive at about 10:10 p.m., when he attempted to pass a 2006 Ford van on the right at the intersection of Peck Avenue.

The Honda struck the curb, then hit the Ford, police said. The vehicle left the roadway, hitting a sign and utility pole.

Rubio was ejected from the Honda.

He was taken to South Shore University Hospital in Bay Shore, where he was pronounced dead, police said.

A passenger in the Honda, as well as the driver and two passengers in the Ford, were taken to the same hospital, treated for minor injuries, and released, police said.

Both vehicles were impounded for safety checks. Anyone with information on the crash is asked to
