New Halal Restaurant Opening On Long Island
Shah's Halal Food is opening a new location on Long Island later this year.
BAY SHORE, NY — Shah's Halal Food is coming to Bay Shore this year, a representative told Patch.
According to the rep, the new location is expected to open in "early summer" this year.
"We are thrilled to bring the Shah’s brand to Bay Shore a vibrant Long Island community," said Khalid Mashriqi, CEO and co-founder of Shah’s Halal. "We’re seeing success in new markets around the country proving that Halal is an exciting and growing food category."

The interior of the new restaurant—which is in the old Blast from the Past toy store on W. Main Street—isn't ready yet and the owners "just got their permits," the rep added.
Shah's is known for its platters, gyros, burgers, salads, vegan options and signature sauces that are 100 percent Halal certified, meaning food and meats are carefully selected and prepared in accordance with Islamic dietary principles.

Established in 2005 with one food cart in Richmond Hill, Queens, Shah’s has over 90 locations locations in the United States, Canada, Sweden and the UK.
