New Restaurant Zest Takes Over Slice Of Bay Shore Space
The head chef from the former pizza shop created a new eatery with "zest for life and diverse flavors" in the Montauk Highway location.

BAY SHORE, NY—The head chef from former pizza restaurant Slice of Bay Shore has remodeled the space at 298 W. Main St. in Bay Shore. Now called Zest, the concept from chef Michael Liebman is based on what he says on the restaurant's website is his "zest for life and diverse flavors."
Zest opened its doors in November. The menu has an extensive list of appetizers like smoked baby back ribs, beet battered cauliflower and smoked brisket poutine. There are soups, salads, vegetarian choices, sandwiches and craft pizza pies like one with fried zucchini and a Thai coconut shrimp variety.
The eatery is open for lunch and dinner Friday, Saturday and Sunday and dinner only Tuesdays to Thursdays.

When Slice of Bay Shore announced its closing in September, the business had this to say about chef Liebman's takeover:
"We are excited to say that chef Michael will be opening up his own concept in this space this fall. It's obvious he's an exceptional chef but he's an even greater human being. We hope you continue to show your support for him in this exciting new adventure that he's very deserving of."
