Northwell Opens $10M Multidisciplinary Clinic Opens In Bay Shore
The site will have a focus on musculoskeletal care and rehabilitative services, Northwell says.

BAY SHORE, NY — A $10 million multidisciplinary practice is now open as an extension of South Shore University Hospital.
Northwell Health announced on Monday the opening of a 25,500-square-foot practice, located at 46 Brentwood Road in Bay Shore, which will be an extension clinic of the hospital.
The site will have a focus on musculoskeletal care and rehabilitative services including orthopedics, physiatry, cardiopulmonary rehabilitation, and a Northwell Health STARS Rehabilitation facility will also be on site.

All services are being relocated to the new address on Brentwood Road from East Main Street in Bay Shore, a release said.
The new facility has 20 physician exam rooms with a staff of more than 50 health care workers, including 15 physicians, a news release said. Patients can receive orthopedic care including on site x-ray testing, comprehensive physiatry services including electrodiagnostic testing and treatment for spinal, pain and neurological conditions and cardiopulmonary rehabilitation.

“We are very excited to relocate our Northwell Health STARS Rehabilitation at Bay Shore an extension clinic of South Shore University Hospital to this new ambulatory site,” said Daniel Vaknin, MA, PT, vice president, Northwell Health Orthopaedic Institute and the Outpatient Therapy Network. “This new state-of-the-art facility will allow us to provide the most comprehensive multidisciplinary care possible to our patients.”
The scope of services that will be provided at the new site include, back and neck therapy, sports therapy, hand therapy, lymphedema therapy, vestibular rehabilitation and neurological rehabilitation including acquired brain injury, stroke and spinal cord injury rehabilitation.
“This new ambulatory site in Bay Shore allows Northwell Health to expand orthopedics, physical medicine, rehabilitation and cardiopulmonary rehabilitation close to the South Shore University Hospital campus,” said Joseph Baglio, senior vice president of Northwell’s Eastern region ambulatory services. “The facility is a state-of-the-art center that also houses a Northwell STARS branch. The relocation of these services provides accessibility and convenience to our patients in the eastern region community.”
