Teen Fatally Stabs His Younger Brother In Neck: Police

A 17-year-old Long Island boy is dead and is brother is charged with murder.

BAY SHORE, NY – A 19-year-old man stabbed his younger brother to death on Long Island Friday night, police said.

According to Suffolk Police, Third Precinct officers responded to a 911 report of a stabbing at a home located at 1726 North Thompson Dr. in Bay Shore at 7:22 p.m. When officers arrived, they found 17-year-old Brian Castillo lying on the ground with a stab wound to his neck. Castillo was pronounced dead at the scene.

After a search of the area, officers located the Castillo's brother, 19-year-old Robert Rivera about 20 minutes later. Rivera was arrested and charged with second degree murder.

Rivera was held overnight at the Third Precinct and is scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip Saturday.
