Three LI Protests Oppose NY's Health Care Worker Vaccine Mandate
An anti-vaccine mandate group and health care workers are staging three protests at Long Island hospitals this week.

BAY SHORE, NY —On Thursday morning a small but vocal group of protesters gathered outside South Shore University Hospital in Bay Shore to protest mandatory vaccination rules for health care workers.
The protest followed a similar one at Stony Brook Hospital on Wednesday. The hospital has told employees that failure to vaccinate will result in disciplinary action.
A third protest is planned for Good Samaritan Hospital in West Islip at 11 a.m.

According to News 12, almost 300 people attended the Stony Brook protest. In Bay Shore at 10 a.m. Thursday around 20 people stood on Montauk Highway with signs saying "coercion is not consent" and "don't bully our heroes."
The protests were organized by a group called New Yorkers Against Medical Mandates. A flyer for the protests encouraged attendees to wear their scrubs to the protests.

New York State has mandated all health care workers to receive at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine by September 27.
