Woman Killed, Struck By Car In Bay Shore: Police

BAY SHORE, NY — A woman is dead after she was struck by a car while walking in Bay Shore on Tuesday, Suffolk County police said.

Jennifer Bolgehn, 37, of Glendale, was walking across Sunrise Highway, between 5th Avenue and Brentwood Road about 12 a.m. when she was struck by an eastbound 2009 Nissan Rogue, police said.

Bolgehn was pronounced dead at the scene by a physician assistant from the Office of the Suffolk County Medical Examiner.

The driver of the Nissan was not injured.

The Nissan was impounded for a safety check. Anyone with information on the crash is asked to call the Third Squad at 631-854-8352.
