After nearly 40 years representing northeast Queens in the New York State Senate, Frank Padavan will be leaving office at the end of the year.
To celebrate his contributions during his long public career, supporters of the veteran state senator will hold a non-political soiree on Wednesday, Dec. 29 at 7 p.m.
The event will be held at Leonard's of Great Neck, located at 555 Northern Blvd. The cost per person is $65, with dinner and an open bar provided. Checks will be accepted at the door.

Mayor Mike Bloomberg and a group of bagpipers will be marching in as part of a ceremonial procession at 7p.m. sharp, and stragglers will miss that part of the ceremony, according to event organizer Dee Richard.
