Auburndale Pharmacist Wins 'Best Of The Best' Award
CVS Pharmacist Sammy Yafai was recognized for his work during the pandemic in SingleCare's annual Best of the Best Pharmacy awards.

AUBURNDALE, QUEENS — An Auburndale pharmacist has been named among the "best of the best" in his profession in honor of American Pharmacists Month in October.
Sammy Yafai, an Auburndale resident who works at the CVS Pharmacy at 35-26 Francis Lewis Blvd., won a "COVID Cares Pharmacist" award from the pharmacy discount service SingleCare for his service during the pandemic, the company announced Thursday.
Yafai has worked as a pharmacist at his local CVS for four years. In a news release about the award, he was recognized for "prioritizing patients' needs and putting in extra hours to ensure they have the best care."

"I always imagine every patient as if they were my relative, and my focus every day is making sure they get the medications they need, understand how to use them, and that there are no barriers
to treatment," Yafai said in a statement. "My top priority is ensuring the best outcome for all of my patients' health and it's the reason I love what I do."
SingleCare's annual Best of the Best Pharmacy awards recognize 15 pharmacies, pharmacists, and pharmacy technicians across the country that have gone "above and beyond," according to its website.
