Bayside Green Barrier Underway To Block Clearview Expressway Noise
The barrier is consisted of around 350 evergreens between 18th and 26th Avenues.

Bayside, QUEENS – Construction for a green barrier near the Clearview Expressway began Thursday after Bayside residents demanded improvements in the noise and air pollution conditions for the houses neighboring the busy highway.
The barrier is consisted of around 350 evergreens between 18th and 26th Avenues. The $250,000 project aims to block the noise coming from the highway by absorbing high-frequency sounds, which evergreens have proven to do.
“Queens residents here in Bayside have long endured excessive noise, stink and eyesores from the Clearview Expressway,” Senator John Liu said in a statement.
