Bayside Posts Third Highest COVID-19 Positivity Rate: Data
Bayside in Queens posted the third overall highest COVID positivity rate in the city during the week at 24.7 percent.

BAYSIDE, QUEENS — Omicron subvariants are causing over 90 percent of COVID-19 infections in New England, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, hitting neighborhoods in the city like Tottenville, Canarsie, and Bayside especially hard.
Bayside in Queens posted the third overall highest COVID positivity rate in the city during the week at 24.7 percent.
Bayside follows Tottenville in Staten Island and Canarsie in Brooklyn, which recorded a 26.6 percent and a 25.5 percent positivity rate, respectively, according to city data.

Other neighborhoods in Queens are posting high percentages of positivity rates, including Arverne, South Ozone Park, and Queens Village.
Still, the overall picture of the city is getting better. Hospitalizations and deaths are falling, and overall case rates are decreasing after a slight spike in November.
