BAYSIDE, QUEENS — It's tough for most people to get to Bayside, and neighbors want to keep it that way.

This week, a Bayside resident posed a question to other neighbors: if possible, would you like to see the subway extended into the neighborhood? The answer: a resounding no.

"No no no," wrote one neighbor, who is among a dozen-plus people who took to the comments on a local Facebook post to reject the idea of a subway expansion into Bayside.

"There must be better ways to spend billions of dollars," said another.

"It's crowded enough here. A subway stop would make it far worse," commented a third. "I think we found the one issue uniting all Baysiders LOL," he added.

Jokes aside, there are not plans to expand the subway into Bayside, which is accessible by few public transit options, including a handful of busses and a local Long Island Rail Road station.

The closest subway station to Bayside is the Main Street-Flushing station located over 3 miles away.
