'Hottest' Queens' Eateries List Includes New Bayside Seafood Spot
Just off of Bell Boulevard is an "underwater-themed boil spot" that Eater dubbed one of the "hottest" spots now open in Queens.
BAYSIDE, QUEENS — Neighbors in Bayside only have to look a couple of blocks off of Bell Boulevard to dine at one of the new, 'hottest' restaurants in Queens, according to critics.
The Shack 48, a Cajun-style seafood restaurant that opened this Oct. at 212-32 48th Avenue, was named among the "hottest new restaurants in Queens" by Eater editors this month.
The seafood joint is one of many restaurants that's opened its doors to vaccinated indoor diners in recent months, as the city's begun to enforce its indoor vaccine mandate.

Eater editors said that The Shack 48 is a "charming" spot to get seafood in Bayside.
Among the food offerings, the editors said the "move" is to get the restaurant's combo platters, which come complete with options like mini octopus and gulf shrimp.

The "underwater-themed boil spot" is also a nice place to get soju cocktails, editors say, pointing out a strawberry soju and watermelon drink that they say pairs well with the vast seafood menu.
The Shack 48 is open Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday from 3:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday from noon to 11:00 p.m. The restaurant is closed on Tuesdays.
