LIRR Stations In Auburndale, St. Albans To Complete ADA Upgrades
Stations in St. Albans, Auburndale and Laurelton will receive upgrades to be ADA compliant, an LIRR representative said Tuesday.

BAYSIDE, QUEENS — Four Long Island Rail Road stations in Queens will get improvements to make the stops more accessible for people with disabilities by installing elevators and connecting paths.
Stations in St. Albans, Auburndale and Laurelton will receive upgrades to be ADA compliant, Anabel Frias, assistant director of government and community relations, said in the Queens Borough Cabinet meeting on Tuesday.
Construction is set to begin in 2024, according to Frias.

St. Albans station, located at Linden Boulevard and Montauk Street, will get a new elevator located near the center of the platform to connect the street level with the platform level.
The tunnel at this station will also undergo reconstruction to provide the required height clearance, as well as ADA improvements to the parking lot.

Both platforms on the Locust Manor station, located at Farmers Boulevard and Bedell Street, will get a new elevator each. LIRR will also install new sidewalks connecting paths to the elevators and two information kiosks.
The station at Laurelton, located at 224th St. and 141st Rd. is also getting a new elevator, and will undergo construction for a tunnel to place the elevator.
The Auburndale station between 192nd St. and 39th Ave. will replace its existing elevator.
