Motorcyclist Killed In Bayside Highway Crash Was Long Island Man: Cops

A 43-year-old Long Island man died after barreling into a sedan on the Clearview Expressway Tuesday, according to police.

QUEENS, NY — The motorcyclist who died in a Clearview Expressway crash Tuesday was a Long Island man from Seaford, according to police.

Damien Marines-Valerio, 43, was riding northbound on the Bayside highway just before 2 p.m. when his Ducati motorcycle slammed into a Honda Civic near the Long Island Expressway interchange, police said.

First responders rushed Marines-Valerio to a nearby hospital but doctors couldn't save his life, according to the NYPD.

Both Marines-Valerio and the sedan's driver were heading northbound on the Bayside highway at the time of the crash, according to the NYPD.

As of Wednesday, the NYPD Highway Collision Investigation Squad is still looking into the crash.
