6 Hurt In Whitestone Bridge Crash, FDNY Says
Updates from traffic sites said that several bridge lanes were blocked prompting significant traffic delays Wednesday afternoon.

QUEENS, NY — Six people are hurt after a crash on the Bronx-Whitestone Bridge Wednesday, according to the FDNY.
It happened about 11:30 a.m. fire officials said.
The FDNY said six people were hurt as a result of the crash, and that all are being taken to a nearby hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The FDNY did not specify how many vehicles were involved in the crash, other than saying it was a "multi-vehicle accident."
My511NY, a feed dedicated to traffic and transit information from the NYS Department of Transportation, said that the crash happened on the southbound side of the bridge, spanning from the Bronx into Queens.

Total Traffic NYC, a real-time traffic site, said that multiple lanes on the southbound bridge span were blocked — a point that was confirmed by a traffic reporter.
Updates from Sigalert.com, a traffic tracking website connected to Department of Transportation cameras, showed standstill traffic on the southbound side of the bridge about 12:30 p.m. with significant delays.
