Nonprofits Team Up To Commemorate 9/11 W/Blood And Donation Drive

Gently used clothing and new toys are among some of the items requested by the CommonPoint Queens.

DOUGLASTON, NY — Nonprofits, the New York Blood Center and CommonPoint Queens, have teamed up to commemorate 9/11 via a blood and donation drive in Little Neck on Sept. 11 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The drives will be held at CommonPoint’s Sam Field Center at 58-20 Little Neck Parkway, according to the nonprofit, which will be collecting new cellphones, iPads, eyeglasses, toys and gently used clothing.

"We are both proud and inspired by the way our community continues to come out and show support for their neighbors who are struggling," Danielle Ellman, CEO of Commonpoint Queens told Patch via email. "Donors and volunteers continue to look for new ways to get involved and this drive will help us keep our community members healthy, safe and connected."
