BAYSIDE, NY — There comes a time in every New Yorker's life when we must ask ourselves, do I live in a rat hole?

The city is here to help answer that very important question with a very disturbing map that tracks rat sightings on a street-by-street level. Luckily, Bayside's rat hot spots are minimal compared to other neighborhoods

There were noticeable rat-hot spots in residential and commercial areas.

  • Bell Boulevard and 39th Avenue (southeast corner)
  • 213th Street and 41st Avenue (intersection)
  • Northern Boulevard and 203rd Street
  • Section of Oceania Street near 45th Drive

On the other hand, there were commercial areas that were impressively rat free. Bell Boulevard only had one report of a rat hotspot.

The breaks down addresses in all five boroughs in the following ways:

  • Passed at Last Rat Inspection (Green)
  • Rat Activity at Last Rat Inspection (Pink)
  • Failed for Other Reason at Last Rat Inspection (Purple)
  • Not Inspected in the Past 6 Months (Gray)

The map from the city's Rat Portal will also tell you the date of the address' last inspection, the number of inspections since 2015, and property information on the building.
