13-Year-Old Girl Shot Near Bed-Stuy Playground, Police Say

A stray bullet hit a teenaged girl near St. Andrew's Park in Bed-Stuy Wednesday night, according to police.

BEDFORD-STUYVESANT, BROOKLYN — A teenage girl was shot near a Bed-Stuy playground Wednesday night, police said.

A stray bullet hit the 13-year-old girl as she sat on a park bench near St Andrew's Park on Herkimer Street and St. Andrew's Place just before 8 p.m., police said.

Emergency responders rushed the girl to Maimonides Medical Center and she is expected to survive her injury, said police.

The girl was not the intended target and her shooter remained on the loose as of Thursday morning, police said.
