18-Year-Old Arrested In Teen's Shooting Death In Bed-Stuy: Cops

BED-STUY, BROOKLYN — An 18-year-old has been charged with murder in the shooting death of a Bed-Stuy teenager earlier this week, police said.

Aramis Gonzalez, who also lives in Bed-Stuy, was charged Friday with murder and criminal possession of a weapon in the homicide, police said.

The arrest comes days after police found 16-year-old Jaden Turnage, who lived nearby on Quincy Street, shot in the chest on Monroe Street between Franklin and Classon avenues around 6:15 p.m. Wednesday.

He was taken to Brooklyn Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, police said.

The death was the second fatal shooting of a teenager in the borough this week.

Cahlil Pennington, also 16, was shot dead in East New York on Tuesday, according to police. Pennington was found shot in the torso near Miller and Pitkin avenues.

There were no arrests in Pennington's death as of Friday.
