4 Sent To Hospital After Fire In Bed-Stuy's Sumner Houses: FDNY

The blaze broke out about 3:15 a.m. Monday on Park Avenue, fire officials said.

BED-STUY, BROOKLYN — Four people were sent to the hospital after a fire at the Sumner Houses early Monday morning, according to officials.

The blaze broke out about 3:17 a.m. in an apartment at one of the New York City Housing Authority complex's buildings on Park Avenue near Marcus Garvey Boulevard, according to the FDNY.

Around 60 firefighters were able to get the fire under control in about 10 minutes, but not before four people were hurt by the flames, FDNY officials said. All four people were sent to the hospital.

An FDNY spokesperson did not have details about their condition.
