Bed-Stuy Man Dead, Another In Custody After Fight, Police Say

A 60-year-old is in police custody after fight in a Bed-Stuy apartment Thursday morning turned fatal, police said Thursday.

BEDFORD-STUYVESANT, BROOKLYN — An elderly man was killed in a Bed-Stuy apartment Thursday morning when a fight with another man turned fatal, police said.

The 72-year-old was found lying in his bed inside an apartment at 210 Kosciuszko St. near Tompkins Avenue about 4:30 a.m., police said.

The unconscious man had a head wound and was pronounced dead in the apartment, according to the NYPD.

A 60-year-old man, who has been taken into police custody, fought with the 72-year-old in the moments before his death, said police.

It’s too early to determine if the 72-year-old suffered from a blow to the head or a fall, according to an NYPD spokesperson.

No weapons were recovered at the scene, charges are pending for the 60-year-old and the investigation remains ongoing, according to police.
