Bed-Stuy Bodega Murder: 23-Year-Old Suspect Arrested

23-year-old Bed-Stuy man Maurice Hennegan was arrested in connection with a September bodega shooting, cops said.

BED-STUY, BROOKLYN — Cops arrested 23-year-old Bed-Stuy man Maurice Hennegan on Friday in connection with a September fatal shooting in a Bed-Stuy bodega, they said.

On Sept. 28 at around 7:24 a.m., police responded to a 911 call at 3 Stars Deli and Grocery at 164 Tompkins Ave. and found 38-year-old Neil Thompson with multiple gunshot wounds to his torso, along with another 64-year-old man with a gunshot wound to his torso, according to the NYPD. Thompson was taken to Woodhull Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries, cops said. The other victim, whose name was not revealed, was taken to Kings County Hospital in stable condition, police said.

Hennegan was charged with murder, assault, criminal possession of a weapon, criminal possession of a controlled substance and resisting arrest, cops said.
