Bed-Stuy Fatal Shooting: Cops Seek Suspect Michael Woolridge

Someone reported to police that Woolridge had a dispute with the victim before the shooting, the NYPD said.

BED-STUY, BROOKLYN — Police are looking for a suspect in connection with a murder in Bed-Stuy in June 2016, they said. Michael Woolridge, 43, is wanted in connection with the fatal shooting at 356 Marcus Garvey Boulevard on June 7, 2016 cops said. Police found Shane McCargo, 44, at 516 Jefferson Ave. in apartment 1A with a gunshot wound to his head, they said. Emergency responders transported him to Woodhull Hospital, where they pronounced him dead.

Woolridge is described as a black man around 5-feet-5-inches in height and 170 pounds, with brown eyes and short, black hair. Someone reported to police that Woolridge had a dispute with McCargo on the sidewalk before shots were fired, the NYPD said.

Cops provided a photo and surveillance video of the suspect and are asking anyone with information on his whereabouts or the fatal shooting to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782).
