BED-STUY, NY — A man accused of punching and choking a woman while using a homophobic slur was arrested in Brooklyn Tuesday, police said.

Richard Taylor, 28, of Brooklyn, pleaded not guilty to charges including strangulation, assault and harassment related to the Aug. 25 assault that police have deemed a hate crime, according to the NYPD and court records.

Taylor stands accused of using homophobic slurs while punching and choking a 23-year-old straphanger on a Q train headed to the Utica Avenue station, police said.

Taylor ran, while the woman sought medical attention, police said.

Taylor was expected back in court on Nov. 13, court records show.
