Bed-Stuy Man Found Dead Under Bed After Brooklyn Drug Bust: Cops
Officers found Shawn Joseph's body under the bed when they went back to a Brownsville apartment to retrieve a suspect's gun, police said.

BED-STUY, BROOKLYN — Murder charges have been filed in the death of a Bed-Stuy man police found in an apartment they were searching after a drug bust, according to police.
Police were searching an apartment on Hegeman Avenue — where three people had been found with drug paraphernalia on Thursday — when they found Shawn Joseph unconscious under the bed with multiple gunshot wounds, according to police.
The officers had come back to the apartment to retrieve a gun, which they found out about during their investigation, police said. Reports of shots being fired inside had first brought them to the Hegeman Avenue building, according to police.

Joseph, 30, was taken to Brookdale Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. He had lived on Lewis Avenue in Bed-Stuy, records show.
On Monday, police charged 25-year-old Shakim Lloyd with murder for the killing, they announced.

Police have not yet revealed charges for those taken into custody during the drug bust.
