BED-STUY, BROOKLYN — It's the end of an era for an iconic Bed-Stuy vintage store.

Lulu Vintage Clothing will end its run at 439 Marcus Garvey Blvd. this Sunday, according to their Instagram page.

"We do not have a PLAN for what is next and may have to step back to take time to rest, re-evaluate and focus on our small business LULU’s going forward," wrote owner Gizmo Vintage Honey. "i have NO ANSWERS at this moment of what will be to come or next."

"I am sad and my heart is in sorrow," Honey said in a video as she held her beloved dog, a Yorkshire Terrier named Poopie Butt.

Since 2018, Honey has been a vibrant presence not just at her Marcus Garvey Boulevard storefront but on social media, where the proprietor would post videos of her showing off her wares.

Honey frequently made posts showing off particular items, sometime wearing them herself set to fun music, or sometimes directly asking her audience: "Why is this still here?"

Her exuberant fashion sense, personality and social media videos — a style she calls "Vintagetainment" — soon caught the eye of popular New York City social media influencer, New York Nico in 2019, who featured the small business owner in his series featuring Mom and Pop shops.

"Her instagram at the time was made up almost entirely of videos of her dancing in front of her shop while showing off new merchandise, so I figured rather than doing a typical interview, she should just do her thing and SHOW my followers what she is about rather than TELLING," wrote Nico in an Instagram post lamenting Lulu's closure.

Honey will be holding a closing sale from Friday until Sunday from 12:00 - 4:30 p.m., and the shop will continue to take Instagram orders for domestic shipping.
