Darrien's mother told the Daily News he was a loving father and fiancée who liked basketball, music and video games.

“Dawuand was very loved by a lot of people,” a loved one told the Daily News. “He’s going to really truly be missed. Our lives will never be the same again. There’s going to be a big void.”
