To follow is a calendar of events taking place at the Macon Branch Library, located at 361 Lewis Avenue, in celebration of Black History Month 2012:

National African American Read-In, Monday, February 13
Community members of all ages are invited to bring their own, or select from our collection, any literary work written by an author of African descent and READ. Silent reading will take place from 10am-4pm. Read-aloud will begin at 4pm. Interested in reading? Send an email to macon.aahc@gmail.com.

Tuesday, February 14,"The Dark Side of Chocolate," Learn what filmmakers uncover in this 45-minute documentary exploring child labor and the corporate cocoa industry in West Africa. We will follow with discussion and call to action.
Tuesday, February 21, 6:30 p.m. Author Talk, Ed German, Deep Down in Brooklyn, German, artist, author and radio personality, will share his experiences growing up in Bedford-Stuyvesant and traveling the world in this colorful memoir.
Saturday, February 25, 3:00 p.m., Artist Talk, Dr. Olivia Cousins, Educator-artist Dr. Olivia Cousins will discuss inspiration behind her photographs currently on exhibition at Macon Library. Guided tour provided.
