BROOKLYN, NY — Hundreds of Brooklyn residents were left without power Monday after winter weather swept through the borough.

According to officials, utility crews are already on the scene working to restore electricity as quickly as possible, while residents are advised to stay cautious and check for updates on the company’s website.

The outages, which began early Monday, have yet to receive estimated restoration times for most affected customers.

Con Edison said the disruptions are likely tied to the winter weather, as melting snow mixed with road salt can seep into underground electrical systems—causing damage and, in some cases, requiring power to be shut off for safety reasons.
