One Bed-Stuy resident was killed, and three more injured, when a fire ripped through the top floors of their brownstone on the historic stretch of Hancock Street between Nostrand and Bedford avenues, according to the NYPD.

Tyrone Corley, 56, who lived on the third floor, was rushed to Kings County Hospital, where he was declared dead, police said.

Another adult male and two adult females were treated for smoke inhalation, but are listed in stable condition.

Firefighters rushed to the scene of the fire around 9:45 p.m., a spokesman for the Fire Department of New York (FDNY) told Patch, and removed the four civilians from 103 Hancock.

Tonya Rapley, who lives down the block, said on Twitter that she saw two of the victims being carried away on stretchers.

“My entire building smells like smoke,” she wrote, adding: ”The Hancock block between Nostrand and Bedford is shut down completely. Parts of Nostrand as well.”

The fire was declared under control a little over an hour later, around 10:50 p.m. It took 65 firefighters from 12 units to put out the blaze.

City officials have yet to determine the cause of the fire. “The investigation is ongoing,” the NYPD said in a statement sent out Wednesday morning.

103 Hancock was described in a recent real-estate listing as a two-family brownstone with seven fireplaces and a potbelly stove. The full listing is printed below.
