A ”barricaded, emotionally disturbed” man in his 20s, wanted for armed robbery, drew an NYPD response worthy of a warzone to the Weeksville neighborhood bordering Bed-Stuy, Brooklyn, on Friday afternoon.
Around 12:40 p.m., a police perimeter was established around a building on Dean Street (between Utica and Schenectady avenues), where the suspect was believed to be barricaded, according to a twitter account for the NYPD’s Special Operations Division.

But when special forces entered the building about an hour later, the suspect wasn’t inside.
So the division deployed a police dog named Oakley to track the man, based on the scent of a piece of his clothing, according to the NYPD.

By 3 p.m., Oakley hadn’t found the wanted man — so the 77th precinct’s detective squad was called in to continue the search.
The NYPD’s press office said it had no information on the manhunt.
