Brooklyn 'Bookstore Crawl' To Return For 1st Time Since Pandemic

BROOKLYN, NY — Bookworms, unite.

A borough-wide "Bookstore Crawl" is on its way back to Brooklyn for the first time since the pandemic.

The event — which lets readers stamp a bookstore passport at independent shops across the borough — will kick off on April 23 and run for a full week.

"For the first time since 2019, the bookstores of Brooklyn invite book lovers to participate in a borough-wide bookstore crawl in the week leading up to Independent Bookstore Day!" organizers write.

Book-lovers can pick up a passport for the crawl at participating bookstores and use it to collect stamps or signatures throughout the week, organizers said. An afterparty will be held at The Center for Fiction on April 30 to compare visits and win prizes, according to BK Reader.

Each bookstore will also offer special merchandise, giveaways and activities throughout the week, the outlet reports. Coupons for 25 percent off will be handed out to those that get at least five stamps on their passport.

Organizers suggested participants check out bookstores' individual guidelines, hours and shopping policies before visiting.

So far, 21 shops have signed up to participate.
