Coming Soon to Bed-Stuy...
Can we expect to see a new beer garden and art gallery in Bed-Stuy in the coming months?

There are a lot of changes taking place in Bed-Stuy, particularly as it concerns commercial and retail development.
We got a tip from one reader – that is unconfirmed – that Chloe’s Beauty Supply, located at 417 Marcus Garvey between Macon and Halsey, has shut down and is being renovated to make way for a new beer garden.
In fact behind the store’s building, the garden is being cleared and landscaped as we speak to prepare for outdoor seating.

Consequently, right across the street from the old Chloe’s on Marcus Garvey is another newly renovated space that is close to completion.
From the outside, the floor-to ceiling windows on the ground floor of this building that stretches the length of two storefronts, and swings around the corner of Halsey, gives the impression that something swanky is in the works.

We inquired with the contractors on site, and they said it was the planned site for the House of Art Gallery, currently located on 373 Lewis (corner of Macon).
We called over to Lewis location to confirm, but did not get an answer nor voicemail. However, according to the contractors, the new location is scheduled to open early September.
