Details of the crash were sent out in a police press release on Friday.

They come as activists take stock of a record-breaking summer for traffic fatalities in both New York City and in Brooklyn. In total, 77 people were killed on New York City streets from June to August, 23 of whom died in Brooklyn, according to a study.

The traffic deaths are the highest they've been since Mayor Bill de Blasio, who has championed a Vision Zero street safety initiative, took office.
