Eric Adams Townhouse Trouble Continues With DOB, Tax Docs: Report
Adams hasn't responded to a DOB complaint about the Bed-Stuy home and said a "mistake" led to tax filings irregularities, The CITY reports.

BED-STUY, BROOKLYN — More confusion has surfaced surrounding Democratic mayoral nominee Eric Adams' townhouse in Bed-Stuy, which he gave a tour of earlier this year after questions about whether he actually lived in the borough.
The Brooklyn Borough President has yet to respond to a Department of Buildings complaint placed on the Lafayette Avenue building after an inspector was sent to investigate allegations of an illegal conversion of an apartment there, according to The CITY.
Adams' spokesperson told the outlet that he was not aware of the notice, which was posted on the cellar door back in early August.

The townhouse trouble also includes irregularities on Adams' tax filings uncovered by accountants who reviewed them for The CITY, including that Adams failed to list the property as his residence even though it would have made him eligible for significant tax deductions, according to the report.
Adams listed "0" days of "personal use" for the property on his 2017, 2018 and 2019 personal income tax returns, which he released following his Democratic nomination.

Adams has told reporters that he has lived on the ground floor of the building since 2017 while renting out three other units in the townhouse.
His spokesperson told The CITY the discrepancy was a "mistake." Adams plans to refile the forms with corrections, the spokesperson, Evan Thies told the outlet.
“He should have let them know he lived there, because he did,” Thies said.
The CITY report has led Republican mayoral challenger Curtis Sliwa to relaunch a "search to find out where his opponent Eric Adams really lives," according to his campaign.
