HBCU Battle Of The Bands Returning To Bed-Stuy Next Week

BED-STUY, BROOKLYN — A taste of the annual homecoming celebrations at the country's historically Black colleges and universities is on its way to Bed-Stuy.

For the second year in a row, Council Member Robert Cornegy Jr. will host a HBCU-themed "Battle of the Bands" in the neighborhood.

"If you’ve never been to an #HBCUHomecoming this will be just a peek at what you could expect on the yard!," the council member wrote.

The musical battle will kick off at noon on Saturday, Sept. 25 in Restoration Plaza.

Last year, the event brought DJs and marching band alumni from schools across the country to compete in the six-hour battle.
